POSITIVE INTELLIGENCE

The Positive Intelligence Approach


Building on the principles of positive psychology, performance coaching and the newest findings in neuroscience, Positive Intelligence was created to help us deal with the challenges posed us by our own brains. For decades (individually), centuries (socially) and millennia (evolutionarily) our brains have been trained to keep us safe. Often, however, the mechanisms we have learned, adopted and internalized often outlive their usefulness, and we are stuck with unconscious responses, ingrained habits and vicious cycles of behaviour that -  even though the may appear to help us on the surface - actually serve to make matters worse!


Once we learn to recognise these patterns and “catch ourselves in the act” of responding in ways that don’t actually make sense (certainly not in the long run), we can learn to stop these mechanisms, and literally “reprogramme” our brains to respond in ways that are more appropriate, sustainable and that foster our well-being, relationships and performance. 

Using an individually curated and supported app, we will help you identify and master your Saboteurs, and tap into the power of your Sage. In order to leverage these skills when you need them most, the programme is designed to be “on the job”, and to integrate into your day-to-day routines. What may initially appear to be tedious, difficult or awkward, will soon begin to feel natural and will allow you benefit from the programme where you need it most - in your everyday environment. 


At the beginning of every week of the seven week process, you will watch a video by Shirzad that introduces the current chapter of the process and describes the methods you will be learning and practicing that week. During the week you will engage in daily practices, and weekly coaching sessions that will help you practice, learn and master these techniques. You will also get access to the first part of Shirzad’s book on Positive Intelligence, which provides you with a deeper understanding of the techniques, science and methodology, as well as numerous practical tips and suggestions to help you along the journey. 


The PQ programme IS intensive and requires your commitment and dedication, but requires less than 15 minutes a day (divided into four sessions of about 3 minutes spread across the day), plus one hour for the video and the coaching session. Throughout the process you will have the support of the PQ team as well as your personal coach, in addition to the support you get from peers who are also going through the programme. The PQ programme can be done on an individual basis, or with friends, family or a team from work.
